The memes are serious. You have likely lived in the reality as well. I know I have. My music playlist goes from throwback Hannah Montana bops, to Knockin' on Heaven's Door by Bob Dylan, to songs from Folklore by Taylor Swift, to Oceans by Hillsong.
Music surely speaks to us and I'd argue that's why many of us have such a variety of music stocked up in our smart phones. We want something that balances our mood, changes our minds, or speaks to our feelings.
There's a reason the Bible tells us to fix our minds on the things that are above (Colossians 3:2) and to think on things that are pure, lovely, and honorable (Philippians 4:8). When my mental health is at a low point and I'm having a difficult time in the flesh casting my mind to Calvary, I can step back and be thankful for the melodies that speak to my heart profoundly and remind me of Biblical truths.
